Steel Blue PENGUIN, hammered with a hot flame on the anvil
Once more Cosé has been captured by the implications of Global Warming: this time he imagined what the future would be for penguins, because at this very moment they are losing their habitat.
He already had a title: ‘Buscando el eco’ (‘Looking for the echo’ in English), which refers to the child game he used to play with his friends, which consisted in letting sound echo against the mountains of his village. But this time we’re not talking about nearby mountains, but glaciers and icebergs that are in fact disappearing.
Then, after having researched on ways and techniques of metal polishing, Cosé started building a constructivist image of a penguin, which he hammered with a hot flame from recycled tempered steel. He polished it in two different ways and finished it with a blowlamp, to evoke a contrast between breast and back, from high gloss at the breast to blue shades at the back.
In the end he created a group and he would always put them on those little oval shapes of steel that can be understood as the melting water beneath their feet...
The price is for one steel Penguin.
We have also listed a Penguin Couple (which would be a powerful wedding present as they represent eternal love).
And if you are interested in a group please let us know, and we’ll inform you about the adjusted price.
